Accent to the paintwork was provided by all black external trim (inclusive of the frames of the opening rear side windows).

Opening rear side windows with satin black, rather than standard chromed, fames
Chrome taper tip exhaust pipes

Context:

Based on the contemporary VW_ 1600_L model with many of its standard fittings unique to Uitenhage production* the Silver Bug celebrated the 25th Anniversary of South African Kever / Beetle production in April 1976.

Approximately 216  examples of the Silver Anniversary Edition were produced by Volkswagen of South Africa (PTY) Ltd. at Uitenhage, South Africa.
