Schwarz/silber decor stripe set underneath the chrome waist line trim and to the lower body side 111 898 524E (right) and 111 898 525E (left)
Wheels were finished in standard L 91 Silber-metalic (Chromfarben) paintwork fitted with chrome hubcaps and chrome trim rings 111 601 155

Context:
S711 Sonderaktion *VW 1200 Mit Aussenlackierung ‘Alpineweiß’, Innenausstattung ‘Graublau” was thought to be officially marketed in Germany, Austria and Italy.
A total of 300 Winter-Käfer Alpineweiß were produced in two batches by Volkswagen de México, S.A. de C.V., Puebla, Mexico, for export to Europe.
The shipment into Germany was released on 18th August 1983.
* (The standard factory specification of the Special Bug was consistent with the contemporary Mexican “1200L” export model officially manufactured for sale in Germany between 1979 and 1985. The model differed in small detail ways from the preceding German manufactured 1200L Käfer for the home (inland). The changes included the addition of an electric screen wash system, heated rear window and head restraints as standard equipment.)
