Volkswagen turns 50 in Mexico.

The Beetle 50th Anniversary is based on a Beetle Sport with 2.5-liter, 5-cylinder 170 hp mated to a 6-speed Tiptronic transmission, and painted in two optional colors, Pearl White and Pure Deep Black, with a distinctive double strip plus silver on the sides color, a rear spoiler in black two-tone color for the top and body color for the bottom, 18-inch wheels, and darkened rear lights, halogen headlamps. Inside history repeats itself, and finished with unique details for this edition include: armrest, handbrake lever and upholstered in leatherette Karree cloth seats and leather steering wheel. Also included is the premium Fender sound system

This vehicle is produced in Puebla and debuted in Guanajuato as part of the 2014 Guanajuato Corona Rally.

The 50th Anniversary edition Beetle is a car to show off, and as such features silver racing stripes on the hood, sunroof, and the trunk of the car, as well as a two-tone spoiler.

Volkswagen of Mexico with all its partners celebrated 50 years of the company, with an event called Volks Fest that took place in the premises of the Sports Unit, located in Cholula straight magnum.

Workers and their families setter gathered from half a day to enjoy this celebration, which had the main event with a concert presentation of the musical groups.

This great feast was held with the attendance of over 40,000 people who enjoyed besides the concert, food carnival rides, games of skill, souvenir, exhibition and a raffle in which one of the partners of the firm won a new 2014 Jetta.

With this event the company appreciated the commitment of all its employees, critical to the sustained success of Volkswagen de Mexico element during these 50 years.

In 2004 there was also a 50th Anniversary – this time an A4 Jetta. It commemorated the arrival of the first Volkswagen cars to Mexico and the 50th anniversary of the laying of the first stone of the Puebla plant (1968).
