A plant production record was achieved at Volkswagenwerk Emden on Germany’s north-west coast when the factory produced its 2 millionth Beetle since opening almost nine years earlier specifically to produce Volkswagens for the US and Canadian markets. A VW 1303 which was shipped for export to North America.
