The 14 millionth Beetle (a 1302 Super Beetle) rolled off the production line at Wolfsburg in 1971 and accepted by Major Ivan Hirst on behalf of VW (GB). The car was later presented to the Duke of Edinburgh who was President of the World Wildlife Fund for charity auction.

The vehicle is known to have suffered peeling paintwork later in its life.
